Judy Taylor Sides Recognized by Cambridge Who's Who
Judy T. Sides was named Oakland High School's Teacher of the Year in 2007
MURFREESBORO, TN, August 9, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Judy Sides, Assistant Principal of Riverdale High School, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in education.
Ms. Sides first developed in interest in the field of education as a child because her next door neighbor was a school principal. She also found her own high school's assistant principal to be extremely influential. Today, she has two decades of educational experience in both teaching and administrative capacities. Ms. Sides spent 17 years as a high school teacher before transitioning into the role of assistant principal of Riverdale High School. She is in charge of curriculum and scheduling; she communicates curriculum changes to those who need to be informed and handles the schedules of approximately 2,165 students each year. Her position also entails running the Freshman Academy, a program that offers incoming ninth graders a core foundation in mathematics, science, English and social studies.
In 1989, Ms. Sides earned a bachelor's degree in history from Middle Tennessee State University. Nineteen years later, she received a master's degree in administration and supervision from the same institution. Her professional affiliations include the Rutherford Education Association, Tennessee Education Association, National Education Association, Phi Kappa Phi, and ASCD. Ms. Sides was named Oakland High School's Teacher of the Year in 2007.
