Judy A. McCray Noted for Dedication to Special Education

DETROIT, MI, August 31, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Judy A. McCray, Retired Special Education Supervisor with Detroit Public Schools, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in special education.

A professional possessing more than 31 years of special education expertise, Judy A. McCray has recently retired from Detroit Public Schools. As a special education teacher and supervisor, she has taught students with learning disabilities, monitored special education programs, taught literacy, supervised classrooms, evaluated the performance and professional development of educators and developed curricula. Additionally, she was responsible for coordinating and conducting staff workshops, consulting with executive directors, principals and curriculum leaders, as well as managing compliance and curriculum modification processes, and purchasing instruction materials.

Ms. McCray, a certified teacher in the state of Michigan, holds a bachelor of science in special education concentrating in multiple impairment and a master of education in learning disabilities from Wayne State University, as well as an Ed.S. Specialist degree in educational leadership from Eastern Michigan University. Over the course of her prodigious career, she has garnered several honors including the Detroit Public Schools' Superintendent's Award of Excellence, a Teachers Excellence Award and three mentions by Who's Who Among America's Teachers. Today, she is a former member of the Michigan Reading Association and The International Dyslexia Association. She plans to obtain her doctorate in the years to come and pursue other interests such as photography and computer technology.
