Cambridge Who's Who Names Sheryl Duby Shaffer Professional of the Year in Education
Sheryl Duby Shaffer lends her talents to Haven Elementary School

SAVANNAH, GA, August 02, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Sheryl Duby Shaffer, Early Intervention Program Teacher at Haven Elementary School of Savannah-Chatham County Public Schools, has been named Cambridge Who's Who Professional of the Year in Education. While inclusion in the Cambridge Who's Who Registry is an honor, only a small selection of members in each discipline are chosen for this distinction. These special honorees are distinguished based on their professional accomplishments, academic achievements, leadership abilities, years of service, and the credentials they have provided in association with their Cambridge Who's Who membership.

Driven by her desire to help struggling students succeed, Sheryl Duby Shaffer entered into the teaching profession over 35 years ago. Today, she specializes in reading instruction at the Haven Elementary School of Savannah-Chatham County Public Schools, where she mentors children and teaches students below grade level in reading and mathematics. She performs careful analysis of test scores in order to best assist students in these areas, and considers her ability to contribute her talents to an impoverished inner city school to be the highlight of her career.

Ms. Shaffer holds a bachelor of science in elementary education from East Stroudsburg University, earned in 1973. She is a proud member of the Georgia Association of Educators and National Education Association.
