Jeanette Voelker Holuk has specialized training in both psychology and education
SHELTON, WA, June 29, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Jeanette Voelker Holuk, School Psychologist for Shelton School District's Special Services Department, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in school psychology, special education, response to intervention, crisis intervention, and counseling.
As a School Psychologist, Jeanette Voelker Holuk has specialized training in both psychology and education. She uses her training and skills to team with educators, parents, and other mental health professionals to ensure that every child learns in a safe, healthy and supportive environment. Her professional development continues to focus on understanding school systems, effective teaching and successful learning. As a member of her school teams she assists the teams by helping to provide solutions to problems through consultation, assessment, intervention, prevention, education, and liaison services. She has held School Psychologist Certification in Washington State since 1991 and has been Board Certified in School Crisis Response through The National Center for Crisis Management since September 2008. She pursued a career in the field of school psychology after working in the environmental health division of a children's hospital. She attributes her success to the guidance she has received from her colleagues and friends who promote professional development through networking with various organizations that are supportive of the educational system.
Mrs. Holuk received a Master's Degree in School Psychology with a minor in Education from the University of North Texas, Denton (1990) and a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology with a minor in Business Administration from the University of North Texas (1981). She is a member of the Washington State Association of School Psychologists, the National Association of School Psychologists and the National Center for Crisis Management. She also serves as a Lay Eucharistic Minister at her local Episcopal church.
