LeiLanie M. D'Agostino named Professional of the Year in 2009

ARLINGTON, MA, June 17, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- LeiLanie M. D'Agostino, Director of Data Integration for Curriculum Instruction and Assessment, for Arlington Public Schools, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in education administration.

An 18-year veteran of the education field, LeiLanie M. D'Agostino has devoted most of her career to Arlington Public Schools. Best noted for her expertise in education administration, she is in charge of curriculum development and data integration for curriculum, instruction and assessment. She handles all state mandated reporting, maintaining and analyzing common assessment data across the district, and serves as an administrator for all district SIS programs (including in district, out-of-district, private pay, special education, health, nursing and transportation). Additionally, Ms. D'Agostino maintains report cards, deciles, GPAs and transcripts for all students district wide. These represent just a sample of Ms. D'Agostino's broad range of responsibilities.

Ms. D'Agostino received her master's degree in administration from Lesley University and her bachelor's degree in elementary education from Boston University. She is affiliated with the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development and is a former member of the Northeast Coalition of Educational Leaders. Ms. D'Agostino was chosen as Cambridge Publishing's Professional of the Year in Education Administration in 2009. Such an honor is reserved for the organization's most esteemed members, each demonstrating excellence in both their professional and personal lives. Ms. D'Agostino attributes her success to the love and support of her parents, Ralph and LeiLanie.

Ms. D'Agostino is proud to lend her services to Arlington Public Schools, a Standards Based Learning-centered educational system. Through the utilization of Standards Based Learning, Arlington Public Schools prepare their students to succeed in the 21st century. Recently, the Curriculum Section of the Arlington Public Schools Teaching and Learning website was developed to share with teachers and parents, providing them with a central location to access helpful resources, examples of graded work and a variety of lesson plan and assessment documents.
