Deborah E. Rapp excelled at writing curricula for children with communication disorders

BREA, CA, June 14, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Deborah E. Rapp, who retired as a Speech-Language Pathologist from Rowland Unified School District, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in speech-language pathology.

A respected expert in speech and language development, Deborah E. Rapp enjoyed a fruitful 30 years in education. She concluded her career at Rowland Unified School District, where she developed lesson plans in reading, writing and mathematics for students with speech and language difficulties, as well as other disabilities. Practicing pet therapy, she also brought her Shetland sheepdog to school to aid in her work with handicapped children. Ms. Rapp is deeply proud of her association with the school district, which boasts a highly-regarded speech-language pathology program. Initially inspired to venture into the field through the influence of friends who majored in communicative disorders, she credits sheer hard work for her professional success.

Ms. Rapp earned her master of science in communicative disorders in 1977 from the University of Redlands. She is a member of the California Speech-Language-Hearing Association and the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association. In retirement since 2006, Ms. Rapp is considering making a return to consultancy work to assist in testing and writing IEPs.
