Ingrid A. Bimbo, M.Ed., Receives Cambridge Publishing's Highest Honor
Ingrid A. Bimbo, M.Ed. Named School Administration Professional of the Year
APEX, NC, May 28, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Ingrid A. Bimbo, M.Ed., Retired Assistant Principal from Chatham Middle School, has been named Cambridge Who's Who Professional of the Year in School Administration. While inclusion in the Cambridge Who's Who Registry is an honor, only two male and two female members in each discipline are named professionals of the year. The Cambridge Who's Who selection committee chooses these special honorees based on their professional accomplishments, academic achievements and leadership abilities.
Prior to her retirement, Ingrid A. Bimbo gained over 32 years of professional experience in the field of education. She dedicated over 17 years of her career in administration in North Carolina, where she served as Principal, Assistant Principal and Education Coordinator in charge of school operations. In addition to overseeing public relations, Ms. Bimbo expertly organized remedial programs, supervised staff, and monitored student behavior, curriculum and special events. She also managed technology development and implemented school safety programs.
Ms. Bimbo credits her vocational choice to the inspiration she received from her mother, a former teacher. During her tenure with Chatham Middle School, she enjoyed playing an instrumental role in the scholastic development of students. Seeing them achieve success, she notes, was the most gratifying aspect of her professional career. Ms. Bimbo credits her own success to her educational background as well as dedication, persistence and attitude.
Ms. Bimbo holds a master's degree in special education from Memphis State University, renamed the University of Memphis. She earned a bachelor of arts in elementary education from the University of Southwestern Louisiana, renamed the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, and completed the Principals' Executive Program at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Center for School Leadership Development. Ms. Bimbo is a licensed teacher of the visually impaired and is a certified exceptional child program administration and certified principal (K-12). Her professional affiliations include the North Carolina Adult Education Association, the North Carolina Association of School Administrators, the Association of Supervision and Curriculum Development and The Delta Kappa Gamma Society International.
