May Abouhouli Distinguished for Excellence in School Counseling
May Abouhouli provides academic advisement for the underprivileged student population at Peoria High School
PEORIA, IL, March 23, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- May Abouhouli, Counselor for Peoria High School, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in school counseling.
Driven by the desire to assist underprivileged children, May Abouhouli lends her talents as a school counselor to Peoria High School. There, she provides advisement for children of low-income families in an effort to enhance academic development. Peoria High's dedication to at-risk students is renowned, states Ms. Abouhouli. She appreciates having the opportunity to play a key role in the development of young students and attributes the success she has enjoyed thus far to the support of her father and husband.
Ms. Abouhouli holds a master's degree in school counseling from Bradley University, earned in 2009, and a master of science in biology from North Carolina Central University, earned in 1995. She is a member of the American Counseling Association and is a board member of the Islamic Foundation of Peoria Sunday School. As she moves forward in her career, Ms. Abouhouli intends to obtain her counseling license and perhaps establish her own practice.
