Julie Derrick Finds Fulfillment in Extending Help to Students who Need it Most
CORTEZ, CO, March 29, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ --Julie Derrick, Resource Specialist for Lewis-Arriola Elementary School, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in elementary education.
With 11 years of professional experience, Julie Derrick is best noted for her expertise in reading. She is currently on her sixth year as a resource specialist for Lewis-Arriola Elementary School. In this capacity, she is responsible for rendering small group lessons, assisting students with mathematics and reading, directing high-needs children, and conducting interventions. A firm believer that special-needs children also have the capacity to excel, Ms. Derrick considers giving a leg up to those who need it the most to be the most rewarding aspect of her work. She attributes her success to the support that she receives from her family.
Ms. Derrick earned her Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education, plus 30, in 1986 from Utah State University. She also holds a special education endorsement. She looks forward to increasing her involvement in special education in the coming years.
