JENA, LA, November 29, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Ivy B. Strozier, a retired Kindergarten Teacher for LaSalle Parish School Board, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in elementary education.
One great educator bequeaths another, and as the story goes Ivy B. Strozier became involved in her profession after being inspired by her teachers and aunt. She attributes her longevity to her love for children and the fulfillment she found in watching their continual growth. The highlight of her career was in 1993, when she was named Teacher of the Year by the LaSalle Parish School Board.
Mrs. Strozier received a Bachelor of Arts in Kindergarten Education from the University of Southwestern Louisiana (now the University of Louisiana at Lafayette) and holds certification in elementary education. In 2006, she was a member of the Alpha Upsilon Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma Society International. She has served as president of the Louisiana Square Dance Association.
