Karen L. Boe, MA, MFT Named "Professional of the Year" for 2009-2010 by Cambridge Publishing
MARYSVILLE, CA, October 01, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Karen L. Boe, MA, MFT, Clinician for Adolescents and Children at Victor Treatment Centers, Inc. and Victor Community Support Services, Inc., has been named Cambridge Who's Who Professional of the Year 2009-2010 in Marriage & Family Therapy. While inclusion in Cambridge Who's Who Registry is an honor, only two male and two female members in each discipline are named the Cambridge Who's Who Professional of the Year. The Cambridge Who's Who selection committee chooses these special honorees based on their professional accomplishments, academic achievements, and leadership abilities.
Backed by six years of professional clinical experience, Karen L. Boe, MA, MFT is primed for a successful career in family therapy. Specialized in play therapy for children, she lends her expertise to Victor Treatment Centers, Inc., a mental health facility, and Victor Community Support Services, Inc., a mental health organization providing community services. At her post, Ms. Boe meets the emotional needs of severely emotionally disturbed children and adolescents. She utilizes play therapy in its various forms to create customized treatment plans for children and families.
Ms. Boe holds a master of arts in marriage and family therapy and a bachelor of science in psychology from George Fox University, earned in 2003 and 2000 respectively. She is a licensed marriage and family therapist in the state of California and holds a number of certifications including equine assisted growth and learning association, sensory integration assessment and training, and solution-focused therapy with children. Her professional affiliations include the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists, the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy, the California Association for Play Therapy, the Association for Play Therapy, Inc., the Equine Assisted Growth and Learning Association, Inc. and Psi Chi. Looking to the future, Ms. Boe intends to pursue a Ph.D. and teach at a graduate school.
