Jill L.D. Ridgers Honored for Accomplishments in Elementary Education
Jill L.D. Ridgers celebrates 26 years as an educator

LONG BEACH, CA, October 29, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Jill L.D. Ridgers, Guidance Opportunity Class Teacher at Cesar Chavez Elementary School, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in all aspects of elementary education.

A veteran educator with 26 years of experience, Jill L.D. Ridgers has honed her skills in both elementary and early childhood education. She now lends her talents to Cesar Chavez Elementary School, where she is charged primarily with teaching a 2/3 GOC (Guidance Opportunity Class), and a class for emotionally troubled second and third graders. In addition to her classroom duties, Ms. Ridgers ensures the development of her profession by mentoring student teachers from California State University, Long Beach. She taught second and fifth graders prior to assuming her current position.

Ms. Ridgers received a master's degree in school counseling in 1995 from the University of La Verne and a bachelor's degree in multiple subjects in 1985 from Chapman University. She is co-chairwoman of Safe in Civil Schools, has sat on the committee of Just the Facts, has been a school representative of the Teachers Association of Long Beach, and served as co-chairwoman of the School Site Council, and as grade level representative and co-chairwoman of the Leadership Committee.
