Diana Friday Receives Professional Networking Community's Highest Honor
Diana Friday Named Gifted Education Professional of the Year
GILBERT, AZ, October 29, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Diana Friday, Gifted Education Specialist for Queen Creek Unified School District, has been named Cambridge Who's Who Professional of the Year in Gifted Education. While inclusion in the Cambridge Who's Who Registry is an honor, only two male and two female members in each discipline are named professionals of the year. The Cambridge Who's Who selection committee chooses these special honorees based on their professional accomplishments, academic achievements and leadership abilities.
A 25-year veteran of the field of education, Diana Friday is best known for her understanding of economics, language arts, and mathematics. She shares her expertise to students at Queen Creek Unified School District. With a focus on the gifted, she is charged with evaluating, instructing and creating curricula for students in kindergarten through the sixth grade, as well as consulting for the National Writing Project. Ms. Friday has been a gifted teaching specialist for much of her career, and is proud to note that many of her students have excelled as part of the Center for Talented Youth at Johns Hopkins University. Honored with a Teacher of the Year Award for Economics, she attributes her success to perseverance.
Ms. Friday received her master of education in 1999 from Georgia State University. She also holds certifications in elementary education and gifted education. Her professional affiliations include the Arizona Council on Economic Education, the Arizona Society of Economic Teachers, the National Association for Gifted Children, and the National Science Teachers Association.
