Dr. Dee has 20 years of overall professional experience. At her current post, she is responsible for leading and advocating for special education children, aiding parents in school negotiations, and collaborating with parents and professionals to ensure children's education. Prior to founding Special Education Advocates LLC, she worked as a special education director.

In 2003, Dr. Dee received a Doctor of Education. She holds a certificate of advanced graduate studies in the management of human service organizations, which she received in 1996. She received a master's degree in education for the visually impaired in 1986, a master's degree in elementary education and English in 1980 and a Bachelor of Arts in education in 1971.

A member of Phi Delta Kappa International and The Phi Betta Kappa Society, Dr. Dee is affiliated with The Council of Parent Attorneys and Advocates, Inc., the Council for Exceptional Children and the Learning Disabilities Association of Maine. She is also affiliated with the Autism Society, the Maine Parent Federation and Southern Maine Parent Awareness.
