Cynthia E. Thomas-Dicks Joins the Ranks of Leading Professionals
Cynthia E. Thomas-Dicks Brings 29 Years of Experience to NYC Department of Education

NEW YORK, NY, July 10, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Cynthia E. Thomas-Dicks, Lead Instructional Mentor for the New York City Department of Education, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in education administration.

Prompted by a long-held conviction that education has the power to change not just individuals, but the world, Ms. Thomas-Dicks began her career as a teacher 29 years ago. She is proud to do her part in New York City, where she has been serving as lead instructional mentor since 2004. Recognized as an expert in mathematics instruction, she is in charge of supporting 24 schools in the New York City school system. Her responsibilities include overseeing professional development, presenting workshops for school administrators and teachers, conducting instruction assessment, and promoting best practices for school and district tutors.

Previously, Ms. Thomas-Dicks worked as a regional staff developer, math teacher, and classroom teacher for all third- and fourth-grade and middle school subjects. She was also a personal trainer for four years. Honored with a New York District Award in Education in 1998, she attributes her success to hard work, determination, and integrity.

Ms. Thomas-Dicks received her certification in administration and supervision in 2002 from CUNY Brooklyn College. Additionally, she earned her Master of Science in Education, plus 30, in 1991 from CUNY City College and her Bachelor's Degree in Education in 1980 from York College. She is a member of the American Society of Notaries and the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development.
