Susan J. Perillo to Be Profiled in Exclusive Registry
Susan J. Perillo turned her admiration for her own teachers into a career in education

SIMSBURY, CT, June 4, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Susan J. Perillo, Mathematics Teacher at The Ethel Walker School, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in all aspects of education.

With 28 years of experience in her field, Susan J. Perillo specializes in teaching pre-calculus. In her position at the Ethel Walker School, she is responsible for teaching mathematics, primarily junior and senior level courses, and helping students make the transition from skill building to analytical and critical thinking. Ms. Perillo teaches mathematics as a foreign language, emphasizing this approach to her students throughout the learning process. She enjoyed her time as a student and had a great admiration for her teachers, eventually deciding to become one herself. She attributes her success to the work ethic instilled in her by her family and to the support she receives from them, her friends and colleagues, and especially her mentor and dear friend Elaine Lewandoski.

Ms. Perillo received her Master's Degree from Central Connecticut State University and her Bachelor of Arts from Albertus Magnus College, She is a member of the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM) and of the Associated Teachers of Mathematics in Connecticut (ATQMTC). She hopes to continue teaching at the secondary education level and developing her students' curiosity in and appreciation of mathematics.
