Deborah M. Yoshizumi recognized for 10 years of dedication to the field of social work

HONOLULU, HI, June 10, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Deborah M. Yoshizumi, Social Worker & Case Manager for the Hawaii Department of Human Services' Child Welfare Services Division, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in all aspects of social services.

Ms. Yoshizumi has 10 years of experience in child welfare. Her main responsibilities at the Hawaii Department of Human Services include managing cases, and working with biological and foster parents and service providers to reunite children with their parents. Ms. Yoshizumi began her career as an inventory control clerk for Duty Free Shoppers and was offered a temporary position in adoptions. After occupying this position for one year, she was eventually offered the opportunity to become a case manager. She considers this to be the proudest achievement of her career to date, and attributes her success to her strong work ethic, ability to get the job done, and openness to new things.

In addition to industry-related training, Ms. Yoshizumi received her Bachelor's Degree in Business and Communication in 1978 from Hawaii Loa College (now Hawaii Pacific University). She previously sat on the governor's planning counsel for developmental disabilities and assisted in training for would-be foster parents. Ms. Yoshizumi finds deep personal fulfillment in working for the state and looks forward to more years in the same capacity.
