RICHMOND, VA, April 1, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Fredene E. Oliver, Teacher for Exceptional Education for Richmond City Public Schools, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in all aspects of education.
With 35 years of experience in her field, Ms. Oliver specializes in special education on all levels. Her daily responsibilities include coaching the fifth-grade boys basketball team, coordinating after-school programs, volunteering for after-school activities and visiting her students at their homes for extra help. Ms. Oliver was inspired to become involved in education by her parents, who were teachers, and she attributes her success to her love for working with students and ability to make a difference in their lives.
Ms. Oliver received her Master's Degree in Education, plus 30, from Virginia Commonwealth University in 1988 and her Master's Degree in Education from Virginia State University in 1978. She is a member of the Richmond Education Association, the American Association of Retired Persons and the National Education Association. From 2005 to 2007, she was recognized by Who's Who Among American Teachers and was a nominee for Teacher of the Year in 1991 and 1992. Ms. Oliver hopes to retire and hopes to make a difference in the education system.
