Elementary Educator with 44 Years of Professional Experience
EDINBORO, PA, February 26, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Jean Smith, a retired elementary educator at Edinboro Elementary School of the General McLane School District, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in all aspects of elementary education.
Ms. Smith had an unprecedented 44 years of professional experience in the education field before her retirement in June 2008. As an elementary educator at Edinboro Elementary School, she specialized in utilizing interdisciplinary approaches to teach students, incorporating families into school projects and developing curriculum. She notes that she became involved in her profession due to the inspiration she received from her own teachers and considers working with students and their parents on a mini society project to be the undisputed highlight of her career.
Familial support is the key to Ms. Smith's success. She received her Master of Education from the University of Pittsburgh and is a member of the General McLane Education Association, the Pennsylvania State Education Association and the National Education Association. She stays current with the trends in her profession by reading industry-related publications and aspires to work as a consultant in the future.
