She was always passionate about the education of underserved children and modeled the Community of Peace Academy after a private school structure.

ST. PAUL, MN, November 1, 2008 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Dr. Karen J. Rusthoven, Executive Director for Community of Peace Academy, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in all aspects of education.

With 42 years of experience in the field of education, Dr. Rusthoven has devoted her career to a philosophy of educating the whole person, including the body, mind and will. Her responsibilities include fundraising, overseeing staff and coordinating academic and outside programs. She was always passionate about the education of underserved children and modeled the Community of Peace Academy after a private school structure while offering equally effective education at affordable fees. She attributes her success to her hard work and supportive family.

A graduate of the University of St. Thomas, Dr. Rusthoven received her Ph.D. in Education in 2001 and her Master's Degree in Non-Public School Education in 1984. She received her Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from Gustavus Adolphus College. A recipient of the Distinguished Alumni Award from Gustavus Adolphus College, she was also named in the Hall of Fame of the University of St. Thomas Department of Education. Dr. Rusthoven will be presenting seminars at the National Character Education Forum in Washington and looks forward to furthering her leadership education and expanding her vision to other public schools.
