/Childrens Issues News Articles/ - Aguas Buenas, PR, April 10, 2008, Sonia Ivette Mel ndez Miray, BA, President of San Augustin del Coqui, Inc., has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in all aspects of child abuse prevention.

Ms. Miray has been working with minors rescued from abuse for the past 27 years. In her 12 years as president, Ms. Miray has overseen child abuse workshops designed to teach minors the necessary social skills for making friends; how to identify and connect with stable persons who will serve as a source of support in different environments; ways to maintain their self-esteem at a high level; and a path for breaking through the cycle of abuse and mistreatment.

In addition to her bachelor of arts degree earned in Spain, Ms. Miray has also completed training in the field of child psychology. She is a member of the American Counseling Association and was the honored recipient of the 2007 Citizen of the Year Award from the Manufacturers Association of Puerto Rico.
